The way that teachers teach and students learn has received much attention from educators and educational administrations over many years. The potential impact of digital technology and the concept of twenty-first-century learning have only fuelled these debates. While conceptions of teaching and learning have changed and continue to change over time, the ways that students are assessed have lagged behind. For many students, the traditional pen-and-paper test is the most common way they are assessed. In recent years, however, the concept of e-assessment has gained more traction.
