The Parking division handles Parking citations, Code Enforcement violations, Animal Control violations, Broward Code Compliance and Tax, Chauffeur and Permitting violations.
Parking citations are issued to a vehicle, as a result the registered owner of the vehicle is presumed by Florida State Statutes to have received the citation. All violations must be paid within 10 business days of the citation issuance date. Failure to pay your citation by the due date will result in other fees and/or penalties being imposed.
You must make payment to the Clerk of Court within 10 business days of the date the violation was issued. Bring or mail your citation with your payment.
The following options are available to pay a citation.

IF YOU ARE NOT THE VIOLATOR, or THE VEHICLE IS NOT OWNED BY YOU. If you are not the owner of the vehicle listed in the parking violation, or you were not the operator of the vehicle at the time of the violation, you can avoid the required “in person” court appearance by completing the Parking Violation Identify Affidavit, which can be purchased from the Clerk’s website and must be sent to the division before the 10 business day due date of the violation.
Note: If your license plate renewal is suspended due to unpaid parking citations, you may not pay by personal check.
To set up a payment plan, you must appear at a Service Locations in person. No one can set up a payment plan on behalf of another person; the defendant must bring identification in order to set up a payment plan agreement. The processing fee to enter into a payment agreement is $25 per case. You must pay by mail or in person with cash, check, or money order.
If you do not agree that the ticket is valid, you must submit your citation to the Clerk of Court and request a hearing within 10 business days of the date the citation was issued. You will receive a notice for the date of your hearing in the mail from the Clerk of the Court. On your hearing date, you must appear on time, in person with any evidence (documents, photos, etc.) you would like the Hearing Officer/Magistrate to consider.
If you do nothing within 10 business days of the date the parking violation was issued, your vehicle tag will be flagged and the Department of Motor Vehicles may not permit you to register your car until all parking fines and late fees are paid in full. If you do not appear at your scheduled court date, and/or do not provide any evidence in writing, the Hearing Officer/Magistrate will hold your citation/case in absentia. You will then be informed of their decision by mail.
For cases other than parking violations that have not been paid, a Notice of Lien Order will be issued against the violator for non-payment of funds. The lien can only be lifted if violations are paid in full, then a Hearing Officer will sign a “Satisfaction of Lien” order.
If you have a valid disabled parking permit, you must send us a photocopy of your disabled parking permit or permit registration, and a copy of your driver license and a signed and notarized affidavit from the owner of the disabled parking permit that they were present at the time the violation occurred, and the parking permit was valid at the time the violation occurred. Explain why the permit was not on display. Send a check or money order for $7.50 along with the affidavit, copy of the driver license and copy of the permit, or permit registration, and we will process this as a Dismissal. Please note: The parking permit and the drivers' license must be from the same state and the permit must include the name or drivers' license of the permit owner, or you must provide proof, from your State Department of Motor Vehicles, of who owns the parking permit.
Disabled Parking Violation Compliance AffidavitYou may also choose to purchase the Disabled Parking Violation Compliance Affidavit and instructions under "online services", forms download. Complete the form, have it notarized and send back with the appropriate documents as required on the form, along with a payment of $7.50.
If you have received a citation for a Broward County Code Violation, Taxi-chauffeur Permitting violations, or an Animal Care and Regulation violation, a court hearing may have been issued on your violation. If the case has been paid prior to the hearing, the violator will not be required to appear at the court hearing.
If the citation/violation has not been paid prior to the court hearing, the violator must appear. If you do not appear at your scheduled court date, and/or do not provide any evidence in writing, the Hearing Officer/Magistrate will hold your citation/case in absentia. You will then be informed of their decision by mail.
If you have missed your administrative hearing, you should wait approximately 1 week or until you have received your paperwork from the administrative hearing officer. Once you have received your results of the hearing, you may file an appeal by filing a Petition for a Writ of Certiorari in the Circuit Civil Division. Hearings will not be re-set over the telephone.
If you are not able to attend your hearing on the scheduled date, you must contact our office in writing prior to the hearing, to request a new date. This option is only available if you reach us prior to the administrative hearing date. Please note, you may only be reset one time.
To appeal the decision of an administrative hearing officer, you must file a petition for a Writ of Certiorari in the Circuit Civil Division within 30 business days of the date of the hearing on your disposition form in accordance with the Broward County Code.
