There's a good chance that you have a credit card with monthly perks. Other credit cards have credits, provided as rebates or statement credits, after you spend money with predefined merchants.
However, there's one thing the banks don't make clear: how long it really takes to receive these credits.
You may see terms like "allow up to 12 weeks to receive credit" and think that sounds unreasonable. Does it really take 12 weeks to receive credit for using the perks built into your credit card? Luckily, it doesn't. Your mileage may vary depending on the time the credits are posted to your account. All the days we have listed below are the average of when our staffers have seen the credits posted to their accounts.
We polled readers and TPG staff to see when they normally receive their credits (on average). Here's a look at how long it takes to get statement credits from American Express, Capital One, Chase and Citi.
Amex statement credits tend to post within two to three days on average, though it varies depending on the specific card and statement credit. Enrollment is required in advance for select benefits.
